Living Abroad // Sore Thumb - An American in France

As a lover of travel and in the spirit of cultural sensitivity, I have adopted an intense care for what others think and acute self-awareness-- both attitudes the French inherently own and wear proudly. Amidst the crowded Parisian metro during rush hour, a pin could still be heard as it drops. Cracked open in each lap is a thick book, an unspoken request to not be spoken to.
